What Makes Arrow the Right Choice for Teen Drivers

Alberta-Approved Curriculum

Arrow's Standard Course is certified by Alberta Transportation. This means your teen's training meets the province's official standards — and the completion certificate can lower insurance premiums after they pass.

Certified, Patient Instructors

Our instructors are experienced with first-time teen drivers. They know how to build confidence step by step — starting on quiet residential streets and progressing to busy arterials and highways as skills develop.

Dual-Control Vehicles

Every Arrow lesson vehicle has instructor-side controls. This ensures your teen is always safe in the car, even in the earliest lessons when reaction times and judgement are still developing.

Free Pick-Up From Your Door

Your teen's instructor picks them up at your home address. No need to drive them to a lesson location — we come to you across all of Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Beaumont, Leduc, and St. Albert.

Flexible Scheduling

Lessons available 7 days a week, 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. We work around school schedules, after-school activities, and family commitments.

Female Instructors Available

If your teen would be more comfortable with a female instructor, Arrow has certified female instructors available. Request one at booking — no extra cost.

What Edmonton Parents Should Know

Enrolling your teen in a certified driving school is one of the most important safety decisions you will make. Alberta Transportation-approved courses do more than prepare teens for a road test — they build the habits, judgement, and risk awareness that determine how safe your teen will be on the road for the rest of their life.

Arrow's dual-control vehicles ensure your teen is always safe, and our certified instructors have helped thousands of Edmonton families navigate the Graduated Driver Licensing process. Read our guide for parents →

In Alberta, you must be at least 14 years old to take the knowledge test and get your Class 7 learner's licence. You must be 16 to apply for your Class 5 GDL. Most students begin their in-car lessons shortly after getting their Class 7.

Yes. Your teen must first pass the Alberta knowledge test at an Alberta registry to obtain their Class 7 learner's licence before attending in-car lessons. Arrow offers Knowledge Test Prep sessions to help them prepare for the written exam.

The Standard Course (10 in-car hours + 15 theory hours) typically takes 4 to 8 weeks to complete, depending on scheduling. The More Road Time package (14 in-car hours) takes slightly longer but gives additional preparation before the road test.

Yes. Completing an Alberta Transportation-approved driving school program typically qualifies new drivers for a discount from insurance providers. The exact savings vary by provider, but over several years the insurance reduction often exceeds the cost of the course.

In-car lessons are designed to be one-on-one between the student and instructor. Passenger presence can distract new drivers and change their behaviour. We ask parents to trust the process — your instructor will give you a full update after the first lesson.

Yes. Arrow has both certified male and female instructors available. If your teen would be more comfortable with a specific instructor gender, request it when booking. No extra cost.
